Avril Thomas is a full time Artist specializing in Traditional style Contemporary Realist Portraiture and figurative work. Avril has original paintings and drawings in Corporate and private collections round Australia and Internationally. Avril is available to paint an original custom-made portrait.  Of you,  your loved ones, or a Corporate or Heirloom portrait project. Her Artists studio and gallery is in South Australia at Magpie Springs. Her work is featured in the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra, has been selected in many National competitions or exhibitions. For example, Kedumba drawing award, The Archibald and Women Painting Women a National Biannual event in Victoria (selected in the first 8 artists nationwide for the inaugural exhibition.)   Commissioned by Arts in Health at Flinders Medical Centre and painted a 42-piece collection in which 10 surgeons and all the staff working with them at the time took part. Followed by A commission by Adelaide University School of Medicine to paint 59 luminaries for an exhibition at Bonython Hall, Adelaide Convention Centre and at the School of Medicine. 9 portraits for Monash University. Flinders University – Vice Chancellor Anne Edwards.
